We’re a family business. We collect as little data as we need to sell you a lamp and keep in touch if you want us to. We don’t sell your data. Ever.
What we collect
- Contact info you give us — name, email, phone, delivery address — when you place an order or sign up for the newsletter.
- Order history so we can service what you bought, help you re-order, and honour the warranty.
- Site analytics — aggregate, anonymised numbers about pages and products (see the cookie policy).
How we use it
- To fulfil your order and arrange delivery or installation.
- To answer questions, service warranties, and handle returns.
- To send you the newsletter, only if you asked — every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- To improve the site and decide what to stock.
Who we share it with
Only with providers we use to run the business — payment processor, shipping partner, email platform — and only what they need to do their job. We require them to protect your data to the same standard we do.
How long we keep it
Order records: as long as we’re required to under tax and warranty law. Newsletter contacts: until you unsubscribe. Analytics: aggregated and retained for up to 26 months.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@usehitech.com with the subject “privacy” and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Security
We use encrypted connections, limit access to personal data to the people who need it, and review our practices regularly. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
